Convert RAW images to TIFF or JPEG before creating HDR image!

by Steven Anderson
(St Louis, MO, USA)

When using Photomatix Pro to create your HDR images, it is best to convert the RAW images to TIFF or JPEG before combining the images in Photomatix to create your HDR image. Photomatix PRO can process RAW images but it doesn't do as good a job of it as software that is made to process and convert RAW images to TIFF or JPEG, like Photoshop, Aperture, or Lightroom for example.

So to get the best quality HDR images, first take the photos in RAW, convert them into TIFF or JPEG and then use Photomatix PRO to combine them into one HDR image.
